The employer must lodge the following applications prior to visa lodgement:

• Lodge RCB application with the local RDA
• Lodge SBS application with the DHA
• Lodge a nomination with the DHA
• Some of the criteria to be met is that the nominee is required to have competent English, minimum three years’ experience in the occupation, a valid skills assessment, and be under 45 years’ of age.
• Similar to the subclass 491, the visa holder can apply for the subclass 191 permanent visa once they have worked in the nominating business in the nominating role for a minimum of three years. You can apply for the 494 anywhere in Australia except Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
